Tina Peacock studied Computer Science with Business Information Engineering at Hull University. Yorkshire born and bred, she really wanted to stay in Yorkshire after graduation.

"Yorkshire people are the best, always friendly and willing to help anybody even if it's just asking for directions. There's also a real feeling of community which is something you don't get a lot of these days and I think you'd be hard pressed to find down South."

After looking around a number of graduate job websites, Tina found that most of the jobs on offer where based in the South until she hit upon Yorkshire Graduates.

"Yorkshire Graduates's great as all the jobs are based in this region so you don't have to jump through hoops to find jobs in the area you're looking for. You can search jobs or browse different industries plus, if you're unsure about the different areas you can live and work in, the "Life in Yorkshire" link gives you a really good picture of the region."

"My favourite feature is the Jobs-by-Email service, which sends you all the new jobs that are posted based on the information you give them. This means you're only told about the jobs that will interest you and you never miss out on an opportunity. I found my current position as a Graduate Support Analyst through the emailing service."

Tina advises students to get as much work experience on their CV as possible while they study, as the job market can be competitive for graduates.

"Being able to demonstrate you have applied and developed your skills in the real world is invaluable."
