The successful candidate will manage a team of staff and coordinate their deployment to maintain service delivery across a range of delivery channels within Customer Services ensuring a high standard of customer service. They will also support the team to improve their skills and transfer customer contact to digital options in line with the Digital First strategy and support colleagues in the promotion and delivery of activities and events.

Your role in our journey
As a Team Leader in our public library service you will manage a team of staff across various locations, identifying and delivering training and supporting the team to improve their skills in relation to channel shift to digital options. You will support teams in the promotion and delivery of events, capturing qualitative and quantitative data to inform continuous improvement in the achievement of our performance targets. You will be responsible for health and safety monitoring and resolving emergency staffing issues.
What you’ll need
This is a permanent opportunity, to join us, you’ll need 4 GCSEs (9-4) or equivalent, or a relevant level 2 qualification and a willingness to undertake the council’s leadership programme. You will need to evidence that you have significant experience of supporting the delivery of direct services to the public and supervision and monitoring performance and delivery. You will have awareness of the issues facing children, young people and vulnerable adults in relation to the service delivery area and be digital confident and adept in the use of online resources. Resilient, able to ‘get things done’ and a natural communicator, it is your organisational skills and ability to work under pressure that really sets you apart.
