Job details:
Barnsley Council recognises the challenges posed to our communities by the growing number of properties being converted into shared accommodation. Safer Neighbourhood Services are seeking highly motivated and experienced officers to work as part of a new team focusing on Houses in Multiple Occupation and other shared accommodation in the private rented sector. As a team you will be responsible for using early intervention methods to raise housing, behaviour and environmental standards in this sector.

We are seeking to establish an informed intelligence picture of the extent of shared and multi-occupancy accommodation across the Borough. As a Business Improvement & Intelligence Officer you will be responsible for researching, analysing and cross referencing data and information held by the council and its partners. This will include crime and ASB, environmental and housing disrepair demand data. Using a predictive modelling approach, the information will be used for the effective deployment of resources within the team.

With a proven track record in a data/research/intelligence environment, you will bring to the role experience of carrying out research, analysis and interpretation of data and information.

This post requires a Basic Criminal Record Check

Prospective employees will be required to give a reasonable account of any significant periods (6 months or more in the past 3 years) of time living abroad.


This post requires a Police Vetting Check

Salary: £27,358-£29,909

Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday
