We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant, to join our North Yorkshire and York services for Sexual Health. The centres are Harrogate, Northallerton, York, Selby and Scarborough.
You will be expected to work in several clinics across North Yorkshire and York, with your base being at our Harrogate Sexual Health Clinic. The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality on a regular basis will be required for this role.
The role includes chaperoning, phlebotomy, microscopy and cleaning the equipment in clinics. Training will be provided for those who do not have Phlebotomy and Microscopy skills.
The role includes the set up and close down of the rooms, at the beginning and end of the clinic, and to stock up the trolleys. You will also help ensure the smooth running of the clinics, by monitoring the patient flow and alerting senior staff of problems. Once trained, you may be expected to see patients independently, and undertake asymptomatic sexually transmitted infection screens and patient follow ups, under the indirect supervision of senior staff.
