Trainee Internal Auditor - Northallerton

The Veritau group consists of two local authority controlled companies, Veritau and Veritau North Yorkshire. The group provides internal audit, counter fraud, risk management and information governance related services to a number of councils and other public sector clients in the Yorkshire area.
Job details:
We are looking for a trainee internal auditor to undertake a training programme which will lead to membership of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors.

Reporting to the audit manager you will assist in the delivery of high quality risk-based audit services across a wide ranging portfolio, gaining experience of local authority service delivery.
Role responsibilities
To undertake training towards the CIIA Certified Internal Auditor qualification (or equivalent).

To assist in the completion of audit assignments on behalf of client organisations through the completion of specific tasks as directed by lead officers within Veritau.

To assist in the provision of support and information to customers, officers and other stakeholders regarding routine financial procedures and related matters.

To provide general assistance to other audit staff on assignments, including collecting data and recording the results of audit testing. Assist in the preparation and production of audit reports to customers.

Degree: You should hold a good degree (or be in the final year of your degree course) or have equivalent specialist knowledge. You should also be outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated, be willing to work with others in a team environment and have good interpersonal skills.

Salary: Salary £18,672 - £21,074 plus up to 3% performance related pay
