Now is a great time to be joining the Estates and Facilities team. As part of the Transforming Lives strategy, the University has recently launched a new and ambitious 20 year masterplan for our campus and estate, which seeks to improve the quality and performance of our estate through implementing an industry leading approach to project delivery and construction. Off the back of 12 months of delivering great projects, many of which have won awards in their own right, our Estates Team has won the “Education Estates Team of the Year” award in recognition of our achievements and ambition to lead the industry. Our commitment to continual improvement is supported by our externally accredited ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS 18001 Management Systems.
To further support our ambitions, we are now implementing a new approach to the delivery of our campus development plans and our maintenance activity and this will be enabled by adopting innovative ways of procuring works and driving optimal performance from our supply chain. Two new Project Manager roles have become available within our Estates Team. Both of whom are to support the delivery of construction schemes as part of phase 1 of the campus plan.
We’re therefore looking for professionals who can demonstrate the expertise, experience, skills and knowledge to help us develop and deliver this new approach and help us to meet our ambitions. The ideal candidates for these roles will share our vision of a safe and healthy world of work and education, a commitment to best practice, and the ability to forge excellent working relationships with internal and external team members.
You’ll need to be ambitious, customer focused, naturally collaborative and have the credibility and experience to work with other professionals to help create and maintain a best practice approach. You will need the confidence to challenge, engage and support senior managers, professional and technical staff both in the Estates Team and across the wider organisation. If this sounds like you, then we’d be delighted to hear from you.
