MyKnowledgeMap

York based company MyKnowledgeMap are the UK's leading provider of virtual academy systems and customisable courses such as e-learning, online skills management systems, skills diagnostics and e-portfolios. They currently employ 35 people, the majority of whom are graduates.

Mike Moran, Operations Director at MyKnowledgeMap, explains that the company has always had a policy of recruiting the best graduate talent as he believes graduates bring to the business energy, humour, teamwork and most of all, change.

“The service Yorkshire Graduates offers is excellent,” says Mike who has advertised more than 30 vacancies through Yorkshire Graduates. “I particularly like the fact that there is a ‘human side’ behind the website service.”

Graduates are taken on in a number of roles within the company and are often given responsibility quite early with the possibility of rapid career progression, a number of whom have already progressed to director level.

“MyKnowledgeMap has a strong commitment to York and Yorkshire,” says Mike. “As a company we are keen to prove that there are exciting career options available in places outside London.”

“I am really glad I found a job in Yorkshire and I’m really enjoying working in York” say’s Ruth. “It‘s a lively city with lots on offer and has lots of great places for a drink after work!”

Helen is the office manager at MyKnowledgeMap and graduated from Leeds in Business Management.

“I always intended to stay in Yorkshire to work,” says Helen. “I signed up to Yorkshire Graduates’s online service near to the end of my final year and found it to be really straightforward and easy to use. It really is the best website for quality graduate jobs in the region.”
