Balmoral Tanks Ltd are a leading European storage tank design and manufacturing company who aim to grow the Balmoral Tanks division to a £75m turnover within the next 5 years. This includes a £10m investment in a new state of the art manufacturing facility near Rotherham. A division of Balmoral Group Holdings Ltd, the company produces the most comprehensive range of tank products available from a single source in the EU. Balmoral also offers a wide range of technical services including installation, inspection, repair and maintenance.
In collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University, the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is seeking to recruit a high calibre graduate, as a Software Engineer, to create an innovative knowledge management system that integrates intelligent systems techniques with leading organisational behaviour and HR management methodology.
KTP is one of the UK's largest graduate career development schemes. Working with the University, and embedding advanced user centred design techniques and technical expertise, this KTP will develop a system that will be completely new and innovative to this industry and will act as an exemplar of best practice that could be applied across the manufacturing sector as a whole. This is a unique opportunity to work within an exciting, expanding area, with excellent personal development - including a significant training budget. The post will provide you with valuable experience, in up to date skills, on a high profile project, and offers a real opportunity for progression within this growing multinational company.
You should be educated to degree level at 2(i) level or higher in computing or a related subject. You must be self-motivated, have excellent communication and report writing skills and be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. Experience of agile development and software project management will be desirable.
The appointment carries a range of benefits including bonus incentives. You will be based at the company’s offices in Thurnscoe, Rotherham and will work directly with senior company staff. You will also receive additional support from experts at Sheffield Hallam University.
