How would we sum it up?
This is an incredible opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious graduate to become the dynamic hub of Sentinel Brewing Co., a new and independent Sheffield brewery. You will be the point-person for all activities relating to Sentinel Brewhouse and Brewery, including liaising with customers, promoting the Brewhouse and taking responsibility for much of the office management of the brewery. The ideal person for the role will embody the company’s values – genuine, inclusive, confident, grounded, explorative and curious – and be excited to hit the ground running in a varied role that will change and develop as the business grows. What’s the business all about?
The business is Sentinel Brewing Co., a Sheffield-based, hand-brewer of outstanding British, Continental and American beers from specially selected, premium ingredients. Voted “Best Local Brewery” in the 2017 Exposed Awards, the business is known for combining modern and traditional brewing practices, as well as providing training courses through their ALL BEER academy. More than just a brewery, Sentinel Brewhouse serves delicious food alongside their beer, hosts brewery tours and even has match-day special events. What would you be doing?
As a new independent local business, the key responsibilities of this role will develop over time, so you’ll need to be flexible and a real all-rounder able to rapidly integrate into the existing team, working closely with them to:
• Present a positive, energetic and vibrant face to the business
• Preparing and issuing a weekly mail chimp under direction of the Master Brewer
• Taking ownership of the delivery cycle, from receiving orders by telephone or email to ensuring payments are processed
• Contacting existing customers, answering their questions and developing business leads
• Arranging site visits for brewery representatives
• Planning and setting delivery schedules for regular accounts
• Completing weekly brewery stock counts for ingredients and stock
• Managing bookings for Sentinel Brewhouse.
• Business administration such as taking calls and fielding enquiries
• Organising all HR documentation for new and existing employees

What are all the practical details?
Starting salary: £16,000 - £18,000pa, depending on skills and experience
Location: 178 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, S1 4SQ
Start date: December 2017/January 2018
Length of internship: Permanent, with a six month probationary period

Person specification
What type of person are they looking for?
You aren’t expected to have any brewery or office management experience, it’s much more about your values and qualities than qualifications! The successful person will:
• Be a graduate from any degree discipline
• Be enthusiastic, positive and adept at building relationships with customers and colleagues
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Have tonnes of initiative and be happy to get stuck into a range of tasks
• Be flexible and able to adapt to a changing role in a growing business
• Be ambitious and eager to learn – the business is growing so there will be lots of opportunities to take on new challenges!
• Be quick to learn new processes and systems, including computing and web-based systems
• Have strong attention to detail
• Be highly organised and able to manage your own time effectively
• Ideally, have a passion for independent businesses and incredible beer!
