Our Fundraising Support Centre in Shipley, West Yorkshire is set to handle over 125,000 enquiries by phone and email from our supporters and 21,500 requests for help from our regional fundraisers in this, our second year of operation. We currently have a vacancy for a Customer Support Assistant to join our winning team.
Customer care is top of our agenda whether supporting our field-based community fundraisers or our supporters across the whole of the UK. In the role you will provide a first point of contact for enquiries from our many supporters, giving information and advice on all aspects of fundraising and other ways to get involved with Macmillan. We’ll need you to build strong working relationships with our regional fundraising teams and help with a diverse range of administrative-based tasks. You will also work proactively across all channels to help our fundraisers achieve targets and objectives, identify opportunities to develop supporter relationships and grow our income.
To deliver an unrivalled customer experience, it’s essential that you are skilled in exercising your initiative and organising and completing your work efficiently, accurately and to a deadline in a fast paced environment. You’ll have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build and sustain highly-effective relationships. From a customer care background gained in either an office or Contact Centre, you will have strong IT skills, covering digital media, Customer Relationship Management systems and other databases and MS Office and be used to meeting demanding quality standards. It’s also essential that your approach is flexible to support successful team outcomes and ensure the very best of care for your colleagues and our supporters. Strong listening skills and the ability to empathise are also key to success in the role.

Hours of work are 34.5 hours per week normally worked between 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday. We also welcome applicants interested in working part-time hours.
