Based on three sites (Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital) the Trust is one of the largest in England and provides acute care for a local population of 600,000 and over 1.2 million people for their tertiary services.
The Trust employs nearly 6,800 people and has an annual budget of approximately £300m . Over the next few years the number of staff they employ is set to increase significantly as they seek to recruit more staff locally, nationally and internationally.
They are currently in the middle of a £250m programme of capital investment. Two of the Trust's flagship developments, the £6m Hull and East Yorkshire Eye Hospital and the £35m Women and Children's Hospital have been opened in the last two years. Plans to build a £45m Cardiac and elective surgical facility and £60m Oncology Hospital at the Castle Hill site are well underway. In additional they have around 75 other smaller capital development projects either planned or in progress.
The department has a permanent staff of 17.54 wte comprising clerical staff, audiologists & scientists, and a further 5.93 wte hearing screeners. It is managed through the medical physics service. It serves a local population of approximately 550,000 living in the city of Kingston-upon-Hull and surrounding districts of East Yorkshire. The successful candidate will have an Audiology BSc or equivalent and registration with the RCCP. Duties will include provision of digital hearing aids following MHAS guidelines and a full range of diagnostic audiometric test procedures.
