Did we mention all our Internships are paid?

Created 03/11/2009 16:59 Last updated 12/12/2013 14:42

We've been out and about promoting internships on campuses across Yorkshire and we've found that some of you are a bit confused about what our internships are. Our internships are paid short term contract positions with local employers. They aren't unpaid work experience placements.

Even better, the majority of the employers participating in our internship scheme are looking to trail you as an employee and, if you've made a good enough impression, take you on in a permanent role at the end of it. Sort of like a paid work trial.

Internship scheme makes an impact

Created 23/10/2009 11:36 Last updated 12/12/2013 14:42
Today is the second Development Day for our brand new internship programme. As I write around 20 graduates are being put through their paces in a top secret location in Leeds by our internship team. The day is designed to assess applicants for a number of roles to identify the shining stars that will then be presented to the employer for interview.

Although the programme only launched 8 weeks ago, we've really seen a great response from graduates and employers alike. One such graduate placed with a Leeds PR Agency had some great things to say about us which really made the GY team smile. We thought it would be great to share with you, as it really shows how our internship scheme is making a difference to graduates struggling in a tough job market right here in Yorkshire.

Autumn Graduate Recruitment Fair

Created 14/10/2009 17:23 Last updated 12/12/2013 14:42

Come along to Sheffield on the 3rd and 4th November for Yorkshires biggest autumn recruitment fair. The Sheffield event is open to graduates and finalists from any University. It's a chance to meet over 140 employers with different exhibitors on both days.

It's a great opportunity to meet prospective employers (as well as stocking up on free pens to see you through the remainder of your University education!).
